The trek up was pretty mild, although walking with snowshoes for the first time just takes a little patience with yourself and practice. 7 miles, 670 feet net elevation gain. Artist point snowshoe a few things i have learned about the hike in general: The water is this gorgeous, gorgeous, lake tahoe blue. Poles with baskets will be helpful for balance.
Paradise valley snowshoe loop 2.8 miles, 550 feet net elevation gain. The hike from bagley lake, going on to the chain lakes and artist point, is probably the most stunning hike i've ever taken. Dogs are also able to use this trail but must be kept on leash.
